Prince William County

 

Prince William County is located 25 miles southwest of Washington, DC, and is bordered to the east by the Potomac River.  Densely forested, Prince William County is home to 17,000 acre Prince William National Forest Park, which offers numerous recreational opportunities.

Founded in 1741, Prince William County is rich in history.  Two major battles of the Civil War took place at the Manassas National Battlefield Park.  Other historic sites include the Town of Occoquan, a beautiful riverfront community, and Old Town Manassas.

Prince William County is home to two minor league sports teams, The Potomac Nationals baseball team and the Northern Virginia Royals.  Located in Manassas is the historic Old Dominion Speedway, the location of the first commercial drag race on the East Coast.

Prince William County Public Schools is the second largest school system in the state, and Prince William County is home to satellite locations of one college and three universities.
