Originally settled in 1764 as the the "Village of Purcell Store," Purcellville was little more than an ox cart path. However, as that path expanded into in a turnpike, the Village was renamed and the Town of Purcellville is now the economic hub of western Loudoun County. Located just minutes from downtown Leesburg in the pastoral foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Purcellville offers numerous dining, shopping, and recreational opportunities. To the delight of area baseball fans, Purcellville was home to the 2007 13 Year-Old Babe Ruth League World Series.
